Fuji Systems with the GT-X Gravity Spray Gun Substituted for the XT Spray Gun.

Purchase any system that comes with a GT-X Gravity spray gun instead of the XT spray gun and you will receive FREE:

Also you have your choice of installed air caps on the Gravity spray gun when you order.

A word about air cap setups on the GT-X Gravity Spray Gun: The GT-X spray gun sprays substantially slower than the XT spray gun, the reason for this is that the quart cup on the XT spray gun is pressurized thus forcing the spray material out at a much faster rate than the gravity feed. One of the consequences of this is that an air cap on the GT-X gravity spray gun will spray roughly equivalent to a one size smaller air cap on the XT spray gun, for example, the #4 air cap on the GT-X will spray more like the #3 air cap on the XT spray gun. Therefore the #3 air cap is not recommended except for shading of small objects, which also can be accomplished by turning down the spray with the #4 air cap installed.

#3 Aircap is recommended only for very light spraying of light materials. See Aircap explanation below.

Instructions for Fuji 9100-G Gravity Spraygun

Most information included in the Fuji User Manual is also valid for the Gravity Spraygun.  However, please disregard any mention of Pressure Tubes, Check Valves, Nipples etc. and the 1000cc Cup. These parts are not used in the gravity spraygun.

Caution:        Before using the 9100-G for the first time, we recommend spraying a small quantity of solvent through the spraygun to remove any particles that may have accumulated during assembly or shipping.

Cleaning:      After each use, empty the cup, (tip out paint into a container) and wipe out any residue with a clean cloth. Pour a quantity of solvent (or water if using latex paint) into the cup and replace the lid. It is not necessary to turn on the turbine. The gun does not have to be connected to the hose. You must wind out the Fluid Knob 8029 so that a stream of the solvent comes out of the Fluid Nozzle 8004. Aim this stream into a container. Repeat if necessary until the solvent is visibly clean. The secret is to flush the solvent through the gun while the paint is still wet.

If paint is allowed to harden in the spraygun and the fluid passages are clogged, remove gravity cup by loosening the Wingnut. Using solvent and Cleaning Brush, clean out the Fluid Coupler 9051. DO NOT SOAK THE COMPLETE SPRAYGUN IN SOLVENT.

Cup Angle:   The cup is adjustable in a wide angle range to suit your style of spraying. If you are spraying mainly downwards onto horizontal boards for instance, you may tilt the cup further back. Loosen the wingnut then position the cup at the desired angle and tighten. The standard setting is usually perfect for most spraying.

CAUTION:    Because the Gravity Cup 9850 is not pressurized, you cannot adjust the size of the spray pattern exactly as described on Page 4 & 5 of the Fuji User Manual. If you wind out the Collar 8001 too much, you will encounter back pressure. This will cause bubbles in the cup and may even shut off paint completely. You can, however, wind out the Collar a small amount to reduce the size of the spray pattern. Then, if you want a smaller pattern, simply move closer to the object you are spraying. Because the pressure is low, you can hold the gun anywhere from 8” (20cm) to less than 1/8” (3mm) away. This will give you an unlimited range of pattern size. For a very small pattern, the Aircap can be turned to a diagonal. This will result in a round pattern.

AIRCAPS:     The volume of paint from the nozzle will not be as great as with our XT Spraygun with pressurized cup, this is because the paint is feeding through the gun by gravity only. However, the #4 (1.4mm) produces a medium wet spray that is more than enough for most fine-finishing applications. The feedback we have received from end users is very positive, especially regarding the quality of the finish. For painting very large surfaces we recommend switching to the #5 (1.8mm) or #6 (2.2mm) set. The #3 (1.0mm) set up is only recommended for spraying small areas with very light finishes (spray tanning or touch-up).
